Product Description

Tango no Sekku, celebrated on May 5th, is a traditional Japanese event that honors the growth and well-being of boys. Families display various decorations and perform customs to wish for their children to grow strong and become respectable adults.

One of the key traditions is displaying samurai helmets (kabuto) and armor indoors, symbolizing protection and strength. Another well-known custom is flying koinobori (carp streamers) outside, inspired by the legend of a carp swimming upstream and transforming into a dragon—a symbol of success and achievement.

This piece faithfully recreates the kabuto helmet from traditional May dolls using wireless cloisonné enamel.

Set in a 21cm frame, the helmet is depicted with intricate details, incorporating larger glass pieces in certain areas to create added depth and brilliance. The result is a striking and elegant decoration.
