Product Description
Now that kimono are no longer commonly worn, we want to preserve the charm of kimono and the beauty of Japanese weaving and dyeing — bringing them closer to everyday life in a form that fits modern lifestylesWith that desire in mind, a kimono tailoring and processing artisan created this piece, inspired by the appearance of someone dressed in kimono.
Our production base is located in Shizuoka Prefecture, a region known for its tea.Around the time of the first tea harvest, the entire area is gently wrapped in the scent of fresh tea leaves. The finished design is inspired by the image of a “Tea-Picking Girl”, representing the tea harvesters of Shizuoka.
The fabric used for the main body of the clasp pouch is a Japanese-made, kasuri-style printed fabric, the same material used for actual monpe (traditional work pants).
We also recreated the red sash-style cross-body strap and the yellow obi-style ribbon decoration in fine detail.
The clasp uses a press-open metal frame (opened by pressing down the top part), so it’s easy to open without straining your fingertips.
This item is one of a kind.
Handling Precautions
● All bags and accessories made from obi and kimono are made of pure silk.
Silk is a very weak material against heavy weight. Please do not make them too heavy by filling them too much. It may cause damage.
● Silk shrinks when wet. Do not use it when it is wet or raining.
● Please do not wash it. The color may fade or shrink.
● When soiled, please put benzene on the tip of an old toothbrush, etc., tap it lightly to dissolve it, and then wipe it off with cotton. However, rubbing may cause the stain to spread.
● The material is very sensitive to moisture, so please dry it in a well-ventilated room out of the sunlight for at least 2 hours after use.
