Product Description
This bag is a remake piece made from a kimono obi (traditional sash).
The handles have been made longer, so it can also be used as a shoulder bag.
I hope many people will come to know about these items and incorporate them into their everyday lives.
The bag is made using an obi woven with gold, silver, and various shades of brown-gold, creating a luxurious finish.
The zippered pocket section and facing feature a thin, layered tatami-beri (tatami border) in gold and black.
The black outer layer of the tatami-beri gives it a contrast that makes the gold shine brilliantly.
A silver charm is attached to the zipper.
The lining is orange, giving the inside a vibrant touch.
Inside, a gold pocket is added on the opposite side of the outer pocket to avoid overlap.
The opening uses a magnetic button.
The base includes a reinforced board and metal feet, adding a sense of elegance.
Regarding Pricing
Please note that pricing may vary based on material sourcing costs, production effort, the condition of the obi, and the final product — all evaluated at my discretion.
This item is one of a kind.
While this bag is lightweight and elegant, please understand that it is a remake item.
(This particular obi shows some signs of previous use, but it is still perfectly usable.)
There may be a scent specific to older kimono materials; in such cases, please hang it in a well-ventilated area or use perfume as needed.
If you are looking for a perfect item or are sensitive to small imperfections, we kindly ask that you refrain from purchasing.
Handling Precautions
● All bags and accessories made from obi and kimono are made of pure silk.
Silk is a very weak material against heavy weight. Please do not make them too heavy by filling them too much. It may cause damage.
● Silk shrinks when wet. Do not use it when it is wet or raining.
● Please do not wash it. The color may fade or shrink.
● When soiled, please put benzene on the tip of an old toothbrush, etc., tap it lightly to dissolve it, and then wipe it off with cotton. However, rubbing may cause the stain to spread.
● The material is very sensitive to moisture, so please dry it in a well-ventilated room out of the sunlight for at least 2 hours after use.
Crafted by
Moco’s Gallery
I mainly create bags using tatami-beri (the fabric used as borders on tatami mats in traditional Japanese homes) and kimono obi.
In addition, I also use lace and rhinestones to make glittery pass cases, eyeglass cases, smartphone cases, dresses for 22cm dolls, leashes, and more.
I always strive to create items that are practical and enjoyable, both for myself and my friends to use.
I sincerely hope my creations bring joy to everyone who uses them.
